Founded by Jakob Persterer in 1995, the company has been a reliable partner for craftsmanship and trade for 20 years. Today, Süd-Metall GmbH employs over 200 staff and is represented on (almost) all continents in the world. As an independent family company, it is one of the market leaders in the German-speaking world with its fitting, metal and glass building ranges.
In striving for the highest levels of quality, functionality and the best designs, Südmetall offers an increasing number of innovations in the building security and electronics industries. The family company carries out its own basic research and has successfully promoted the ABACO surface coating, which is based around nanotechnology. Business & Tradition
20 years on, we are still a young company and it may be a little too early to talk about tradition. The history of our production department dates all the way back to 1965 - in other words, half a century - and the second generation have been in charge of the company's skills for many years. However, business has completely transformed over the last 20 years. And even now, we have managed to continue Südmetall's success story. Our quality craftsmanship of the best German kind has met with high demand all over the world. This has been our commitment since the beginning. Our ability to fulfil this demand is underlined by our success, which has seen us become one of the market leaders in the German-speaking world for 10 years, and gain an increasing presence on a European level.

As a relatively young company, Südmetall relies on innovative products, and the staff behind these products. Teams in different areas, from development and production to logistics and sales, each have their own part to play, and we are proud of their work. Great people with unique skills and backgrounds are what keeps the company running every day. Together they create innovations and maintain the culture of the company. It all begins with training, when they pass through all areas of the business. Nearly all our trainees, or 'Südmetallers', stay with the company, seeing a perspective and a future career for themselves.
Payment is provided in accordance with the employees' industry-wide collective agreement in the wholesale and field sales departments of the Bavarian LGAD (Landesverband Groß- und Außenhandel, Vertrieb und Dienstleistungen Bayern = Bavarian State Association for Wholesale and Field Sales, Marketing and Services).
