Südmetall stands for modern technology and passion in a traditionally shaped market. Since 25 years, founded in 1995 by Jakob Persterer, the company has been a reliable partner of trade and commerce. Today Süd-Metall Beschläge GmbH has over 250 employees and is represented on (almost) all continents of the world. As an independent family business, it is one of the market leaders in the German-speaking countries with the product ranges fittings, glass and metal construction.
In the pursuit of the highest quality, functionality and best design, the Almar Südmetall Group increasingly offers innovations in the field of building security and electronics. The family-owned company conducts its own basic research and has successfully advanced the ABACO surface coating, which is based on nanotechnology. Own production and own patents have always been part of the company philosophy.

Economy & tradition
After 25 years we are still a relatively young company and it is perhaps a little premature to speak of tradition. After all, the history of our production facility dates back to 1965, i.e. half a century, and the second generation has been leading the company history for a long time. But the economy has changed completely in the last 25 years. And it is in this time that we at Südmetall have recorded our success. We meet the highest requirements worldwide with well-tried, German quality goods. And this is exactly what we have committed ourselves to from the very beginning. The fact that we satisfy these demands is proven by our success, which has made us one of the market leaders in the German-speaking world and increasingly also on a European level.
Employees & future
We are happy to talk about the overall social responsibility of companies, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the term used for New German. And it is right to do so. At the same time, internal structures and stable, positively developing profitability must create the necessary success for a company. Südmetall is still a young company and lives from its assertive and innovative products and the employees who stand behind them. Teams from development and production to logistics and sales do their part and we are proud of it. Great people with unique skills and backgrounds contribute every day. Together they create innovation and support the company culture. This begins with the apprenticeship, during which our trainees pass through all business areas. Almost all of the ‘Südmetallers’ who have completed their training stay with the company and see prospects and a professional future for themselves.
They are paid according to the collective agreement for employees in the Bavarian wholesale and foreign trade companies of the LGAD (Landesverband Groß- und Außenhandel, Vertrieb und Dienstleistungen Bayern).
