Südmetall stands for modern technology and passion in a traditionally shaped market. Since 1995, the company founded by Jakob Persterer has been a reliable partner for trade and commerce for over 25 years.  Today Süd-Metall Beschläge GmbH has over 280 employees and is represented on almost all continents of the world. As an independent family business, it is one of the market leaders in the German-speaking countries with its ranges of fittings, glass and metal construction.

Pursuing the highest quality, functionality and best design, the Almar Südmetall Group increasingly offers innovations in the field of building security and electronics. The family-owned company conducts its own basic research and has successfully pioneered ABACO, which is a surface coating based on nanotechnology. Own production and own patents have always been part of the company philosophy.

Süd-Metall Beschläge GmbH, including Almar S.p.A production, is certified according to DIN-EN-ISO 9001 and DIN-EN-ISO 50001.

Business & tradition

After 25 years, we are still a relatively young company and it is perhaps a little premature to speak about tradition. After all, the history of our production facility goes back to 1965, half a century, and the second generation has long been leading the company’s history. However, the economy has changed completely in the last 25 years and it is precisely during this time that we at Südmetall consolidated our success. We focus on quality craftsmanship to meet the highest standards worldwide. This is exactly what we have committed ourselves to from the very beginning. The fact that we fulfil this claim is proven by our success, which makes us one of the market leaders in German-speaking countries and increasingly also at European level.

Employees & future

We like to talk about the overall social responsibility of companies, i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). And rightly so. At the same time, together internal structures and a stable, positively developing earning ability are responsible for the success of the company. Therefore, entrepreneurial skill and good team spirit are needed. From this, a corporate philosophy can grow and be sustained. As a still young company, Südmetall thrives on assertive and innovative products and employees who stand behind them. Teams from development and production to logistics and sales play their part and we are proud of them. Great people with unique skills and backgrounds engage every day. Together they create innovation and carry the company culture. This already starts with the apprenticeship, during which they work through all business areas. Almost all of the ‘Südmetallers’ who complete their apprenticeship remain at the company because they see a perspective and a professional future for themselves.

The employees are paid according to the collective agreement for employees in Bavarian wholesale and foreign trade companies of the LGAD (Landesverband Groß- und Außenhandel, Vertrieb und Dienstleistungen Bayern).
